I think
many of you feel the same way, having a blog changes how you look at things in
live. For some reason you start to notice the small things that seemed
insignificant before.
Treating
yourself with some homemade cake and coffee, capturing the dog dreaming about
running wild on the beach, the joys that come with the seasons like flowers and
chestnuts.
This is one
of the things that make my blog a special place where I can look back at a lot
of special moments and gives me the chance to see special moments of others! But
what makes it a really special place, are the other residents that are part of
this little town in blogland. They show love, support, interest and more love.
I appreciate it so very much! We’re nearing
the end of 2011 and I never would have imagined that my blog would become an
important part of my life. So I want to celebrate that 50 lovely people are
following my blog at the moment. I also want to say a BIG thanks to you all!
So I am
organizing a giveway, hurray! Since I am obsessed lately by all the pretty patterns of
Tiny Owl Knits and enchanted by the magic of hexipuffs, the prize of this
giveway will be a pattern of your choice from Tiny Owl Knits! I emailed the
creator of these wonderful patterns and she was thrilled about the idea so this
giveaway is a gift from Miss Stephanie herself! She is just the sweetest person
in the world….ok maybe the second sweetest person (my mom’s the sweetest ;-)).
Look for example at these ones. Just a tiny selection of all the wonderful patterns she made, look here for all the patterns she offers.
So, what do you have to do if you want to win a free pattern?
Leave a comment stating which small thing you recently enjoyed.
State which pattern you would like to receive.
I'll be drawing a winner randomly from the comments, but it has to be a comment from a follower. This is a 50 followers celebration after all. No worries, new followers can also participate!
You can participate until Friday the 23rd of December. I will announce the winner the next day.
I'll leave you with a photo of a sweet little hexipuf, I have 16 right now! It was stolen by my dog, look at his face! He just knows it's mine, hand it over now naughty dog!

My small things that I have enjoyed were with my son hom sick yester day I got to sit on the couch with him laying with his head in my lap very still and quite. Just sitting there it was peaceful. And the other was this weekend my daughter(12) crawled in bed with me at night and we sat and watched a movie while working on our crochet projects. I think I would like to win The Beekeeper's Quilt pattern. I am just learning to knit and love the way these look.
ReplyDeleteThe little thing I enjoyed last night was washing the dishes after dinner with my roommate. Just working together in silence, making our home clean. Sometimes if you concentrate on the rhythm of the work, even the most mundane chores can be meditative.
ReplyDeleteThe small thing I enjoyed recently was decorating cookies for the first time with my 2 1/2 year old son. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOOOVE every single pattern on Tiny Owl Knits. Love, love, love. Unfortunately I don't know how to knit (yet)...but I do know how to crochet so my favorite pattern is the Forget-Me-Not ruffly collar (or the rosy wristlettes...it's hard to choose!)
Anyway, thank you so much for the wonderful giveaway and congratulations on 50 followers (and 16 hexipuffs)!
What a beautiful doggy, he so knows he is losing that hexipuff! :)
ReplyDeleteI have just popped over to Tiny owl knits, what a gorgeous site! I so wish I could knit. So I would chose one of the crochet pattern my favourite being 'forget-me-not' so so cute. I have two little things that I have enjoyed this week. The first was today with my 4 year old we made salt dough decorations to hang in the kitchen, we need to paint them tomorrow, it was lovely to spend time with her now she is at school full time and I'm at work we don't get many moments like that. I hope to blog about this very soon with pictures of the decorations. The second is getting back to my blog after three weeks of due to study. It was so nice to get back into the swing of blogging and taking pictures and posting them up, o h how I have missed it.
Wishing you a very merry christmas.
Today my son got to meet the Munster rugby team in the childrens ward at our hospital. He is too young to understand now but he will when he's older. He was born very prematurely and spent months in hospital, we dreamed of moments when he'd do regular baby things like open his eyes or smile. Now he smiles and laughs and I enjoy every moment with him especially ones that wouldn't seem like much to others but to me they mean the world.
ReplyDeleteAll those patterns are beautiful. I especially like the woodland hoodlet. I'm not a good knitter at all but i'd learn for a pattern like that. Wishing you a very happy Christmas :)
Yeah 16 hexipuffs and they are looking so good, Oh your doggy so knows he has to give it back but he is adorable nestled in there with the puff. I thought I already followed your blog but alas no so i will sign up right now. The small thing that most stands out in my mind is the family get together we just had where we did our family tradition to see the myer windows, I love little things like that traditions just seem to make a family feel more warm and loving and it also felt like a mint celebration of my mum who passed away earlier this year.xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having 50 followers! This is a great idea for a giveaway too. On Monday my lovely daughter who is 27 (and about to move out) spent the day helping me to do the pre-Christmas clean and put up all the decorations... all whilst listening to the new Michael Buble Christmas album that we both love... it was a perfect day made even more poignant by the fact that it will be her last Christmas in the house where she grew up! How hard it is to choose between all the beautful patterns made by Tiny Owl Knits... I would love the 'Cloudy Day' leg warmer pattern if i am lucky enough. Oh yes...well done on all your hexipuffs too... that lovely puppy deserves his own hexi-puff blanket :)x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway - I love TOK too, and I've been admiring the new bluebell scarf (I forget the official name!!).
ReplyDeleteAs for a small thing, well, you're right - I take the time to notice those things now, and today we spent a long time looking at clouds. I love that. Makes any troubles or worries seem so small and insignificant.
Your puppy is adorably cute - better not let my kids see him!
Xxx
Thanks for popping by my blog today and for your lovely comment. :) I must admit, I too have been eyeing up the Beekeepers Quilt. I've only dipped my toe so far - only 2 hexi's done but I have a feeling they won't be the last! Good luck with yours!

Hi, thanks for introducing yourself and stopping by my blog. I love meeting new people.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best small things I enjoyed lately was my son bringing home his first handmade christmas decoration from his daycare. He was so proud.
You dog made me laugh. My 3 year old does the same thing...steals my Hexipuffs when I am not looking.
Oh, I love all the Tiny Owls patterns, but think I would love to try the fox stole or wrap...seems interesting ;)
Hiya. Pop by my blog all4meggymoo for a nice surprise. Have a good day.

He does indeed look very guilty, there are so many lovely patterns it would be difficult to choose! I think it would have to be the sweet robin wristees, they are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThis giveaway is a lovely idea, and its great that you organised something like this :D
Very cute naughty dog! Look at his guilty expression!
ReplyDeleteSmall thing would be baking cakes and making rocky road with my daughter for her class party then making perppermint creams as presents for her teachers!
I love so many of her patterns. I was recently looking through them all and thought that my daughter would adore the catching butterflies fingerless mitts, so it would have to be that one

Heej,
ReplyDeleteIk vind je blog erg leuk en ben er net achter gekomen dat ik ook je blog kan volgen zonder zelf een blog te hebben! Joehoe!
Mijn kleine dingetje was vanmiddag.
Ohhh your dog is the sweetest - I'm not even a dog person!
ReplyDeleteSo I've wracked my brain trying to think of a small thing... It sounds a bit sad if I say it was difficult doesn't it! Yesterday I bought a nice red & white polka dot cup and bowl, they made me smile so it will have to be that!
My favourite pattern is absolutely the hopsalots slippers, they are stupidly cute! I have some bunny slippers which have worn out & I'd love to made my own pair. If I don't win I may just buy the pattern anyway!! :-)
P.S Thank Youuuu for my blog award! It was lovely to pass on to 5 other bloggers :-)
