Tada moment

Well, here it finally is. My Tada moment of my summer butterfly blanket. It is with only four colors, but I still really like the way it turned out. It's pretty big! I can wrap it around me when I want to sit on my balkony watching the sun go down or just with a hot cup of tea on the couch during a storm (they seem to pop up here once in a while). So, are you ready? Are you sure? Well then, here it is:

Look at Puck trying his very best to claim my blanket! Well no way jose, even if you give me those puppy eyes! Or...maybe....noooo! He cannot! He will just slowly turn it into little bits of yarn :p. It's all mine, moehahaha. Just one more picture * I just cannot get enough of it! *

*sigh*

I REALLY love it!

If you also want to make this little cuty, you can find the pattern on Ravelry here or directly on the webpage here. Let me know if you do, I might be able to help you out if you run into trouble and I am very curious how it looks in different colors! I did add another row of double crochets to each square, but that's just a matter of taste. Now back to my tiny secret project.....Can you figure what it is yet?

On my way

Today I visit a dear friend who lives in a different town. So I got up early to catch a train. I love it when the train drives you through huge amounts of grass, water and some cows. Faster and faster, until the first houses show up again and the next station follows.

I will be in the train for over an hour, so guess what I'm doing? Sewing my blanket together!

Ooeh, I will also show you a part of a little secret project I'm working on!
Well, my blanket is getting to a tadaaaa moment, so hang on a bit more ;-). Working on the edge now.

Getting there

Just a quick post on the progress of the blanket. I'm getting there! Can't wait to put on the edge of this cuty.

Sun is shining, weather is sweet...

Another day with so much to enjoy. The sun was peaking finally through the grey clouds, birds were singing again and I could smell these cute little pink roses and freshly cut grass *I luuuuv this smell*. It's amazing how nature finds her way in the concrete jungle of Rotterdam. That's what I like most, the little pleasures that can be found and since nature has to fight here, it feels even more like a treasure when you find something.

But not all is well in the city centre. When I do my groceries or go to work, I always come across escalators. And to be honest, I am a bit phobic for these moving stairs. The scariest is the moment when you go on the escalator and off it. I'm paranoiac that something will stick in the moving horror. Luckily I didn't have shoelaces in my boots today!

I survived, time to get that blanket done!

Back to square one...

Hi you,

It feels like a new start, writing in English instead of writing in Dutch. It should be good for the development of my writing skills haha, so I apologize in advance for all the mistakes I will doubtlessly make.
It has been raining cats and dogs in Holland, all is grey and dark. Even Puck is bored *let’s face it, going to the park for hours appeals less when lightning strikes*. But I look at the bright side, its perfect weather for crochet. And although I have some unfinished projects I found a pattern that I just couldn’t resist.

I love squares and I love quick projects, so this pattern is perfect for me. Also, I still badly wanted a nice blanket to cover my couch. I choose slightly different colors. I wanted it to be more bright and but in some white.

Look at the squares piling up! I decided that I need 40 squares in total. I now have 35 already and maybe I will find some time today to sit down with a cuppa tea and hook the last ones too. Can’t wait to finish it and wrap it around me.

Nederlands vs. Dutch

Hier een klein berichtje uit Rotterdam. Ik heb besloten om mijn blog voort te zetten in het Engels.

Schaapje, schaapje

Even een klein haak projectje tussendoor.

Converse me
